wedding photography victoriaP I N this to pinterestI’m usually a big fan of black and white wedding photography, but for this couple’s Hatley Park wedding I was very much drawn to the colours. The vivid reds of the wedding party’s RCMP uniforms alongside the lush greens of Hatley’s gardens really gave this wedding some punch! After a lovely ceremony amidst the stunning Hatley Castle, we wandered the gardens (amazing!) and continued to gawk at the castle before departing the grounds. We spent some time at the historic St. John the Baptist Church and then arrived at the Chief and Petty Officers’ Mess at CFB Esquimalt for the reception. A fun, sunny day for a fun-loving couple! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. W. for the opportunity to be part of your special occasion and to Lara Eichhorn Photography for having me second shoot for the day.

I joined fellow photographer Krysta Dey at Saxe Point to photograph the afternoon wedding of Kathy and Tyson. What a gorgeous setting! Seriously, this park has it all: beautiful big trees, a large grassy area, and a 180 degree view of Juan de Fuca Strait. There were lots of cute little munchkins present at this quaint wedding, (including Kathy and Tyson’s boy Hayden) which was nice! Here are a few of my favourite images.

  • I love the one of them walking along the grassy path towards the ocean. The colours are incredible. Such an adorable couple and kids.ReplyCancel

Taran and Ashley were my portrait contest winners back in February! We headed to the beach and got some really sweet photos of mom and babe with balloons, then into the sand they went! Taran is a cutie-pie, he’s nine months old and his name means heaven and also thunder, so mom calls him “thunder from heaven” :)…Thanks to Auntie Jessica for providing goofy faces and fart sounds to get Taran giggling.

Here are some images I took a while back. Twins!! Isabella and Josephine are wee angels and may or may not be identical – Mom and Dad have to wait until the girls are a bit older to find out. Congrats Anna and Taylor! Your babies are so sweet 🙂 (For those of you who missed it, check out Anna and Taylor’s maternity session we did at Goldstream Park.).

When my sister Christina was pregnant in the spring she and I talked about names for their unborn baby. She rattled off many possibilities, and expressed some frustration–choosing a name isn’t easy and they were having an especially hard time landing on the perfect girl’s name, in case they had a girl. They had a girl. After hearing how the delivery went, how much the baby weighed, and what she looked like, I noticed Christina was leaving out a vital piece of information. “So, does she have a name?” I asked. After a long pause, she said, “Yes, we named her Vivian.” I believe my response was “SHUT UP!!!” I was so surprised. There was never any mention that ‘Vivian’ was even a consideration! Wow, I was, and still am so honoured to share the same name as my beautiful niece. Here’s introducing Vivian Adela (and her equally adorable big brother Marcos). These photos were taken just five days after Vivian was born. Check out all that hair! She’s a perfect little Monchhichi. 🙂
