P I N this to pinterestIt’s that time of year again! I had the pleasure of photographing so many cute kids as they had a visit with Santa at Mothering Touch again this year. This was my seventh year doing the MT Santa photos- can you believe it?! Some of the kids laughed, some cried, and some did both! Thanks so much to all the parents who came out. Donations were graciously accepted by the Young Parents Support Network. Thank you also to the good people at Mothering Touch who put on this event each year.

I had the pleasure of photographing this styled wedding shoot at HCP, Horticultural Centre of the Pacific in Saanich. What a treat! I hope these images show all the possibilities that HCP could have for your wedding. Such a great venue for those looking for outdoor/indoor options in Victoria. The post and beam Couvelier Pavillion building is ideal with its views of the gardens….THE GARDENS! They are amazing and extensive. Japanese, Mediterranean, Rhododendron, Children’s, Bonsai, just to name a few. So many options for gorgeous photographs. I was in heaven! It was a combined effort to put this together – thanks so much to Dana at HCP, Rock Paper Square for the artful styling, Food For Thought Catering for the wonderful food, Poppies Floral Art for the elegant florals, Tres Chic for the romantic Rosa Clara dress, and of course our lovely model Autumn.

Brenna and Dave had what I like to describe as a laid-back West Coast wedding at Church and State Wines. These two met when studying geology at UVic, and have spent the last several years in Calgary. Both were happy to celebrate their marriage in Victoria! They decided to have a ‘bride reveal’ on the shoreline near Brenna’s parents’ house. Dave waited at a great little spot we scouted out beforehand. What a beautiful moment to witness, these two so emotional! Here’s a little look at their first look:
After some photos with the wedding party, we headed to Brenna’s parents’ house for a quick bite to eat before the ceremony. We did a little re-creation of a couple of photos of Brenna’s parents’ wedding: of her mom in front of the mirror, and with the family black lab at the time (we photographed Brenna with her parents’ current black lab, Sadie). How neat! These peeps are dog lovers, especially black labs, so it was a must. Brenna and Dave even brought along their own black lab Stetson from Calgary, just to be with them! The whole crew, dogs and people alike, were wonderful to work with and a treat to photograph. Congratulations Brenna and Dave!

From the bride and groom:
“We absolutely loved the photographs you took for our wedding! We could not stop smiling when we first saw them!….Our biggest fear with working with a photographer was being uncomfortable/awkward because a wedding is a very special day and full of intimate moments. You put us at ease right from the first time we met you for coffee. We were all joking and having fun by the end of that first meeting. I think that was so important for us to feel comfortable with you on the big day. You managed to capture all of the intimate moments without us feeling like an outsider was intruding. We had multiple people in the wedding party and family say to us how sweet you were and how well you fit in with the whole vibe of the wedding. Honestly, we cannot say enough good things about you and our experience with you!”

I had the pleasure of photographing the Dixon family as they patiently awaited the arrival of their second little one. We chose an open field in Beacon Hill Park for their session (always a fan of tall grasses!) and it was nice that soon-to-be-big-sister Ayla could run around and explore. The shoot couldn’t have gone better! Mom and Dad were very laid back and we just hung out and watched Ayla burn calories 😉 . She reminded me of a female version of my son Reid! They’re both the same age, both have a bit of a wild side, and both are full of beans!
