Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season with friends and family (and egg nog:)). Hopefully lots of R&R to recharge those batteries for a great 2011. Here are some photos from a maternity shoot I did in December with Ingrid and Blair. Their little one has since arrived- stay tuned for photos of him!

I am so excited to share these images from a session I did on the weekend at the English Inn. Mags was looking to have some fun and flirty portraits created as a special gift for a special someone, if you know what I mean :). She brought along some fun wardrobes, including a vivid kimono and a beautiful black lamb and mink coat, which has a romantic story (it was her mother’s, a gift from her father…and he had her initials embroidered on the inside- so sweet).

Mags, thank you for trusting me and allowing yourself to be vulnerable in front of the lens….but look, wasn’t it worth it? You are beautiful. What a diva. By the way, aside from being gorgeous and in her 40s (don’t worry she said I could let be known her age ;)), Mags is also a very talented writer, storyteller, and consultant- check out her work here. I also need to thank you, Mags, for giving me permission to post these images–I hope it will inspire other women to find the courage to do this, if they’ve ever thought about having similar ‘boudoir’ type photos taken. I think it’s an empowering experience!

Also, a huge thank you to the English Inn for providing such a great location for this shoot and especially Jessica Daniels and her team for their unwavering hospitality. If you’re looking for a wedding venue, this tucked away heritage home is one of Victoria’s jewels!

  • Thank YOU Vivian for creating a space whereby I could express myself and feel taken care of and safe knowing that you would be good to me and make me look a 1000 times better than I imagined I could! Best experience ever. Bravo.ReplyCancel

    Vivian,

Your photography is truly a work or art. I always knew you were an artist. frankiReplyCancel

By now most of us are familiar with “Movember“. If not, where have you been?? It’s the prostate awareness and fundraising campaign that’s become popular all over the world. It’s a great cause, but ladies, are you feeling my pain? I’ve been living with a cop from the 80s for just about a month now, and I’m ready for him to leave! While there’s no denying the sex appeal of Tom Selleck’s stache, I just can’t seem to get cozy with the bristle brush atop my honey’s lip….looking forward to December and the revival of the razor blade!….How do you feel about the moustache in your life?

Ooh la la! Look at that sexy mustache!! Wayne is sporting one too! Don’t know about you Viv, but we can’t have a serious conversation without me bursting into fits of giggles! Bring on December!ReplyCancel

It’s not often that Victoria residents get to play in the snow, especially in November! …It could be that I’ve avoided some of the chaos on the roads, slipping and sliding into safe park spots, or maybe it’s because I invested in a down coat the other day so I’m keeping cozy :), but I’m liking this weather. Personally, I think Hatley Park is one area in town that truly becomes enchanting in the snow….If you’ve ever dreamt of having a castle wedding, Hatley Park, home to the 1908 Edwardian Hatley Castle and Royal Roads University, may just be the venue for you. Equally as beautiful in the spring and summertime, the surrounding gardens make for gorgeous photos, and the castle’s drawing room, complete with chandeliers and fireplace will surely make a memorable day for you and your guests.
