Sunset Proposal {Engaged}

Get ready to gush! Jonathan contacted me a while back because he was planning to propose to his girlfriend Katie and was hoping to have the event captured with photos….this was going to be a surprise proposal of course, so I would need to use my paparazzi/photo-sniper skills to document the moment incognito 🙂 Jonathan set to work location hunting for the perfect spot that was meaningful (and where I wouldn’t be noticed) and after a few weeks ended up choosing one by the ocean where he and Katie often visit. Soon the date was set and a plan in place! They were to go to dinner with Jonathan’s parents- but would need to kill time as J’s parents were running late. They would make their way to the ocean (where I would be sitting on a bench inconspicuously).

It all came together beautifully. Of course I couldn’t hear their exchange because I was far away shooting with my long lens but it wasn’t hard to see what was happening: a few nerves, adrenaline, emotions high, and then pure joy.

I love how Jonathan put SO much thought into his sweet proposal- another tidbit: he chose to include sapphires in Katie’s engagement ring because she loves the sea and grew up on the coast….how romantic is that?? Fellas out there, are you taking notes?? 😉

I loved this session and I feel so honoured to be trusted to create these photos of such an intimate moment between two people. Jonathan and Katie, thank you so much for allowing me to do this!
