Alright, I need to apologize as the blog has been receiving some neglect on my part! Now that the Baby Fair is all wrapped up, you can expect more posts in the coming weeks. I’m dying to share some fabulous weddings and portrait sessions with you! First up is Joanna and John. They had a beautiful wedding at the enchanting Sun Lotus Guesthouse, a little jewel of the Cowichan Valley, complete with private lake, gardens, and a gentle slope, perfect for a wedding ceremony. I was the second photographer for their day, alongside Rosanne of Orange Passion Photography. We started off with Jo and John’s first look at a neat derelict church which provided a gorgeous backdrop. For their ceremony they decided to infuse some Celtic origins by having a traditional Handfasting ceremony, whereby the bride and groom’s wrists are bound with a cord for part of the ceremony symbolizing the couple’s coming together as one. This is where “tying the knot” originates! I had never seen this type of ceremony before and I must say it was refreshing to see something uncommon, yet still beautiful. After the ceremony the newly married couple had little paddle on the lake, and the bridesmaids lured the bride onto the trampoline- what fun!! Hehee. Congratulations you two! You make a very sweet couple.
Beautiful work, Vivian. I love the trampoline shot near the end. What a gorgeous location.
Thanks Lara! The trampoline shot is one of my favs!!
